Primary School students to participate in activities beyond learning

Wyndhamcity.com approached the organisers of Primary School Dance Competition (PSDC) an upcoming dance competition for primary school students to be held in August 2017, below are some of the details provided by Archana Koorthy, the director of PSDC.

After the great success of HSDC 2015 and 2016, we are pleased to bring you the Primary School Dance Competition 2017 (PSDC 2017).

PSDC is a freestyle dance competition with the aim to encourage students to participate in activities beyond learning. “It is a platform to promote teamwork, boost confidence levels and inspire students to connect culturally through the art of dance” says Archana.

Archana says she visited and presented the concept to many Primary Schools in Melbourne and received good response. She believes PSDC is a fun and great way for students to meet new friends and develop essential social skills through interaction. Group choreography fosters teamwork, communication, trust and cooperation. PSDC believes that through this competition students will have an opportunity to develop important life skills, such as discipline, confidence, self-esteem and focus.

“One of the greatest benefits of dance is that it sparks a student’s imagination and nurtures individual creativity in a unique way”, states Mrs Koorthy.
